Royal Princess overview

Royal Princess
Royal Princess was is a Royal-class cruise ship from Princess Cruises and was refurbished in December 2018.

Christened by Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, Princess Cruises' Royal Princess has a contemporary New World elegance that's ideal for a couples cruise or multigenerational family vacation. Royal Princess is a Royal-class cruise ship and was refurbished in December 2018. Updates included expanded children's activities, additional spa and fitness amenities, and updated staterooms equipped with the highly anticipated Princess Luxury Bed. Royal Princess isn't just one of the newest and largest ships from Princess Cruises; it's also one of the most elegant.

Passengers enjoy a chic adults-only retreat and pool area that is 20% larger than other ships in the fleet. Designed for privacy and intimacy, the Sanctuary features plush lounge chairs, private living room-style cabanas, and secluded villas that can be reserved for a couples massage or al fresco spa treatment.

This is just a small sampling of the premium amenities that are available to all travelers, not just MedallionClass passengers and Club Class mini-suite guests. Cruisers can take advantage of exclusive Chef's Table dining experiences, numerous specialty restaurants, and world-class entertainment produced by Broadway hit makers. The ship is also known for its dazzling public spaces, including the Italian-style Piazza, a popular spot for theme parties, the Fountain Pool, which hosts the nightly Watercolor Fantasy light show, and the glass-bottom SeaWalk observation deck that extends 28 feet beyond the edge of the ship.

Aboard, everything from the restaurants to the entertainment and tastefully appointed staterooms is designed for a premium experience. Royal Princess cruise ship reviews consistently mention the quality service and enjoyable destinations.

Royal Princess itineraries and departure ports

Royal Princess cruises depart from Los Angeles, Anchorage, and Vancouver, British Columbia, and visit Alaska, the Pacific Coast, and the Mexican Riviera. Royal Princess's Alaskan cruises run from May through September. Seven-, 12-, and 14-day journeys visit scenic destinations across the region, including Glacier Bay National Park, College Fjord, and the Dawes Glacier. From fall through spring, the ship tours the Mexican Riviera. Five- and 7-day cruises stop in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. Princess was one of the first companies to cruise the Mexican Riviera, so no one knows the region better.

Alaska is just incredible! by BoozeAndCruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess

We had an amazing time because how can you not in Alaska? We are mid 40s and not Princess's demographic so some things were not our style but we still had tons of fun. Food was decent. But you go to Alaska for the ports and we had tons of time in each port which was a huge plus.

I have had better trips on Princess by Pops73

Far below what I know for princess. This trip was truly disappointing. I have sailed Princess several times and if it had been my first, I wouldn't be back.
